Biography

Paul Hiscock is an award-winning author of crime, fantasy, horror, and science fiction stories and poetry. His short stories have appeared in a variety of anthologies, and include a seventeenth century whodunnit, a science fiction western, ‘punked fairytales, and numerous Sherlock Holmes pastiches. He is a member of The Society of Authors, the Crime Writers’ Association, numerous Sherlockian groups including the Sherlock Holmes Society of London, the Beacon Society, and Five Miles from Anywhere, and the ACD Society.

In 2023, his poem, The Ascent, was awarded a Doylean Honor for Excellence in Fiction and Poetry by the ACD Society.

Paul lives with his family in Kent (England), where he runs a local writing group, Novelling Kent. In real life has never been called upon to solve a murder or met a dragon. Instead he spends his time looking after his children, working in cafés (where he fuels his imagination with large amounts of black coffee) or writing in the middle of the night (when everyone is asleep but the caffeine hasn’t worn off yet).
