Sherlock Holmes in His Last Bow by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
There’s an east wind coming, Watson.
We mainly associate the traditional stories of Sherlock Holmes with the Victorian era. However, Conan Doyle relates how he was still active on the eve of the Great War, and now a new collection of stories from Belanger Books records the adventures of Holmes and Watson in wartime, and beyond.
My latest story, The Seventh Shot, appears in Sherlock Holmes: After the East Wind Blows Part II, which chronicles Holmes’s cases in the immediate aftermath of the war. It is inspired by a real life event, the attempted assassination of the French Prime Minister, at the height of the peace negotiations in Paris that would lead to the Treaty of Versailles.
All three volumes of the collection are currently available to pre-order on Kickstarter at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/belangerbooks/sherlock-holmes-after-the-east-wind-blows. The campaign, which reached its initial goal within its first hour, runs until 1 June 2021, and the books are due to be published in August.
