Memories of War

The Tin Soldiers, my fourth contribution to the world’s largest collection of Sherlock Holmes stories, will appear in the twenty-fifth volume of the MX Book of New Sherlock Holmes Stories. Like previous collections, the latest three volumes in the series (XXV, XXVI, and XXVII) contain traditional pastiches set in the period and written in the style of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original adventures.

Before moving into 221b Baker Street with Holmes, Watson was injured in the Afghan Wars. In The Tin Soldiers he is forced to recall that traumatic period of his life, when other soldiers who have returned from the war start dying in suspicious circumstances.

The new books are currently available to pre-order on Kickstarter in hardback, paperback or electronic format. As with previous volumes, all the royalties from the collection are being donated to Stepping Stones, a school for children with learning difficulties projects based at Conan Doyle’s former house, Undershaw.
