Many authors over the years, including myself, have written mysteries starring Sherlock Holmes. But how does one step into the shoes of Dr. Watson to chronicle the untold adventures of the world’s greatest detective? I will be attempting to answer this question at the second Orpington Literary Festival.
On Thursday 19th May 2022 at 11.00am, I will be appearing at the BR6 Restaurant and Bakehouse in the Walnuts Centre on Orpington High Street (please note this is change to the originally advertised venue). I will be sharing some of the secrets of writing a successful Sherlock Holmes short story, including how I recreate Conan Doyle’s distinctive characters, their world, and Holmes’s astounding deductions.
Whether you are a mystery fan, or thinking that you might want to step into Watson’s shoes for yourself, this will be a great opportunity to learn more about the art of the mystery story.
