My latest Sherlock Holmes story, The Adventure of the Hostile Hound, is part of an exciting new project. In the Footsteps of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson is not only a collection of stories for young people, but it also features adventures written by young adults alongside contributions from leading Sherlockians.
The book contains both traditional pastiches and stories set in other times and places that have been inspired by the characters and adventures of Holmes and Watson. My own contribution is a traditional Sherlock Holmes story, which is written at a 4th Grade reading level (8-9 year olds) but will hopefully be enjoyed by readers of all ages.
As well as giving new authors their first chance to be published, the collection is raising money for The Beacon Society, a Sherlock Holmes Scion Society which gives grants to teachers, libraries, and Sherlock Holmes organisations to help introduce students to Sherlock Holmes.
In the Footsteps of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson is being funded through an Indiegogo campaign, which is running until 6 September 2020, and is available in ebook, paperback and limited edition hardback formats.
It is great to be able to support the next generation of writers and I hope you will enjoy their exciting new takes on the characters of Holmes and Watson.
