We Didn’t Start The Fire!
Sherlock Holmes investigates some of Conan Doyle’s most bizarre mysteries in Into the Fire, a new collection of short stories from Belanger Books.

In 1908, Conan Doyle published his Round the Fire Stories, a collection “concerned with the grotesque and with the terrible — such tales as might well be read “round the fire” upon a winter’s night.”
None of these stories featured his most famous character, Sherlock Holmes, but now editor Margie Deck has invited a group of Sherlockian writers to revisit these adventures, either rewriting them to include Holmes and Watson or producing sequels where the Great Detective investigates the unsolved mystery.
In The Mystery of the Man with the Watches, I rewrite Conan Doyle’s classic railway mystery. This is considered a Sherlock Holmes story in all but name by some fans, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to reveal the true nature of his involvement with this case.
Into the Fire is initially being released through Kickstarter in an exclusive two volume edition collecting the original stories alongside their new interpretations. A single volume edition containing just the new versions of the stories will be available through bookshops at a later date. You can pre-order the exclusive Kickstarter Edition now at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/belangerbooks/sherlock-holmes-into-the-fire/.
During the campaign, there will be interviews with many of the contributors where you can learn more about them and their stories. We also took part in a special meeting of the international Sherlock Holmes society, Five Miles from Anywhere, to launch the project and a recording of that meeting is now available on YouTube.
